Practical Applications of CNC (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is the process of removing metal with the use of electrical sparks to take away the metal. These Electrical Discharge Machine has two types, the vertical EDM and wire EDM. Vertical EDM uses an electrode that is the shape of the cavity to be machined into a work piece. Wire EDM is used to create punch and die combinations in the fabrication industry. Computer Numerical Control EDM’s are not usually known because it is mostly incorporated to other CNC process.

Drilling is the most common machine process. Computer Numerical Controlled Drilling is used to create precise right circular cylinders over a certain material, the CNC could be programmed to create holes on different standards, most of the time this is the gaps between these holes. Drilling is commonly used in wood working manufacturing process in which other process is also involved such as milling, turning and grinding.

Several tools for creating holes with CNC’s involve varied hole sizes as well as drill press for creating different depths on its holes. CNC drills are equipped depending on the type of hole that the machine operator is drilling.

Applications stated above are just a few examples on what the Computer Numerical Control could execute. Depending on how you want it to perform, more complex designs can be made and a lot of things can be made in a shorter period of time, therefore the key concept for the proper use of CNC’s is that the machine operator must know what he or she wants to do.

This makes the CNC an indispensable tool for the Manufacturing Industry nowadays.

Practical Applications of CNC (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Manufacturing anything that requires exact measurements requires cutting edge precision and nimbleness from the worker. Most of the time manufacturing these kinds of products requires weeks or months to finish therefore slowing down productivity as well as consistency of the manufacturers.

Computer Numerical Control or more commonly called as CNC’s are the new trend in machine shop manufacturing and practice. Any manufacturing environment owns one or is basically acquainted to this kind of device because of its capability to increase productivity as well as consistency on the products being produced.

Benchmarked from Numerical Control (NC) during the late 50’s, Computer Numerical Control incorporate the functionality of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), meaning you could program it to execute different functions depending on the type of manufacturing that the industry needs.

Given this kind of quality what does the Computer Numerical Control do in the practical application concept? CNC can do a variety of things depending on how the machine operator would program the system. The more acquainted the machine operator is to the CNC machine the more complex applications as well as programming can be made. Practical applications of CNC range from drilling, lathes, multi-axis spindles, milling machines, laser cutting machines, and wire electrical discharge machines.

Let’s discuss some of these common applications further. In Metal fabrication, Computer Numerical controlled Lathe’s are used to fabricate metal sheet by shearing, flame or plasma cutting, punching, laser cutting, forming and welding. Most CNC Lathe’s are used for designing modern carbide tooling. The design could be created with the Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) process, and when done, the CNC could start creating the product automatically with little supervision from the machine operator.

On the Dole: The Effects of Economic Recession on Employment (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Economists, until now have not yet formally labelled the economic downturn of the United States as an economic recession.  Amidst falling home equity, the rising cost of food, health care and housing along with disturbing number of unemployment, economists is still claiming that there is still growth in the economy, even though it is small. People found it unnecessary for a formal announcement to actually feel the recession coming in.

According to Miami Herald, people unemployed are starting get desperate.  The number or people out of work for six months or more increased from 160,000 from July to August.  There are 10.7 percent of people who would like to have a full time job but
are unable to do so.  Due to unavailability of working positions.

It does not matter if you have a college degree under your belt.  College graduates this year are also experiencing the highest unemployment rate since 2004 with 2.7 percent.  Meanwhile, 9.6 percent of high school graduates are unemployed and this figure is  also highest rate since 1996.

Most of the job losses are in the manufacturing sector, which lost 61,000 jobs this year.  In the manufacturing industry, Miami Herald cited 20 percent of job loss even though the export numbers are increasing.

Even though the pay or salary is increasing, a 3.6 percent increase compared to 2007 salary, it is insufficient compared to the fast rate of increase in the prices of primary commodities.  The consumers’ buying power is still low.  Food and beverage costs are 5.8 percent higher than 2007.

For those who were left employed and thanking their lucky stars, there is still a hitch.  Companies are already cutting the health coverage for their employees.  Currently, $694 and $3,281, respectively, according to the most recent data by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Economic recession is an event which is very difficult for everybody.  Hopefully, the real economic status will be recognized immediately to be properly addressed and solve.

On the Dole: The Effects of Economic Recession on Employment (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

There is a lot of talk about economic recession nowadays.  People are complaining how economic recession is making their lives worse. The economic recession often refers to the two quarters of negative economic growth.  A severe recession which lasts for more than two years, becomes a depression.

A recession is characterised by rising unemployment, increase in government borrowing, decrease of share and stock prices, and falling investment.  All of these characteristics have effects on people.

People have a general understanding of the recessions’ negative effects. But how does an ordinary consumer get affected by a recession, employment in  particular is not really clear.

John Schmitt and Dean Baker released a new report on the possible impact of the recession on What We’re In For, Projected Economic Impact of the Next Recession  this year.  In their report, the 2008 recession in United States is perceived to raise the national employment rate between  2.1 and 3.8 percentage points.  This would be an equivalent of  between 3.2 million and 5.8 million unemployed Americans.  CalculatedRisk stated, based on this report and United States’ recession history, that economic downturn can be measured in how high the unemployed number of people rises.

Based from the United States recession history, there had been a handful of times when the unemployment rate has risen during an expansion.  Unemployment had risen by 0.5 percent or and there were instances that it is less.  But this scenarios happen when the country is not under any economic downfall.  When the unemployment percentage reaches 0.6 percent, the economy is described to be under a recession.  This year, the U.S. unemployment rate is nearly 1.1 percent.

Home Exchange – Tips on Preparing Your Home (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

The kitchen and appliances
For a real homebody, one of the many pleasures in a real home is a fully-equipped kitchen. Cooking away from home also takes on a special sense for some people. Providing a well-equipped kitchen for your guests certainly adds appreciation points for you.

Make sure the major appliances work. Knives need to be sharp. Pots and pans have to be ready for use. Those tools and cleaning supplies have to be in one easy-to-find place.

It is a good idea to stock up on oils, vinegar, flour, salt, sugar and other basic condiments for home cooking. Keep your cookbooks and favorite recipes within easy reach.

You may write notes to your guests on where to buy the freshest fish, the best butcher, where to find bargains, and where the best restaurants are.

Repairs, etc.
A leaky faucet would really have to be repaired, as much as that busted bulb has to be replaced. The wooden shed with peeling paint at the back of the house need not be repainted. Some sprucing up, of course, goes a long way.

Do you need to re-grout the bathroom tiles?
Is the kitchen sink dripping?
Does that linen closet really need repainting?
Where did that toilet paper holder in the downstairs bathroom go?
Is it time to shampoo the carpets?

In the end, you will notice your home had taken on a new attractive livable look, beautiful as it may have been before the streamlining and the sprucing up.

Finally, you may notice that all the repairs and the sprucing up were really how to make your home work (and look) good for you, and not just for your home exchange guests. As you may have noticed, that is the best part.

Home Exchange – Tips on Preparing Your Home (part 1 of 2)

 http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Preparing your home for your home exchange partner is akin to having guests coming over. The exception is that they are going to stay in your house for the next week or two, and not just for dinner.

What should be the things to prepare? Where does one start? Which things can be left as they are?

From experienced home exchangers, some practical tips have been collated through the years for use by first-time home exchangers. Some of them are quite simple. Some are just practical things one needs to do even in ordinary situations. Others, of course, are important requirements.

Closet-cleaning
This is one of the first requirements in preparing for your house guests. Check out all the clothes in your closet and get rid of all those that you have not worn for the past year (you don’t like them anymore), those that are in need of repair (you don’t care for them), and those that you hoped would fit you again (they won’t).

Put them all in bags to give away to friends, family or charity. Do these in all the closets in your house. Traditionally, it is expected that you leave considerable space (and plenty of hangers, too!) in these closets for use by your guests.

Off-limits room
The overall plan is to make enough room for your guests, and your personal items have to be moved and stored elsewhere.

Assign one room or perhaps a closet to be off-limits to your guests. This is where you store your personal items you leave behind: jewelry, your papers and private correspondences, very personal toiletries, delicate items, treasured art pieces, personal knick-knack items, etc. You will discover there is now plenty of space in the house for use by your guests.

Supplies
Basic toiletry items such as toilet paper, soaps, and other cleaning items should be available and ready. Store your personal items (toothbrushes, shavers, etc.) in some nearby drawer. A fresh supply of clean bath and hand towels (as well as bed sheets, pillow case and other related items) should be available, too.

A supply of hand soaps, bath salts, or body lotion would spice up your bathroom. This is just an idea. You may have your own pleasant surprises for your guests.

Customer Knowledge: Buying Fish Oil Supplements (part 2 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Studies showed that fish oil with docosahexaenoic acid or DHA and eicosapentaenoic acid or EPA have the most health and benefits.  Studies showed that the brain uses or needs more DHA to function better. Aside from being free of heavy metals, it should always contain at least 60 % of EPA and DHA. You would also have to consider or be cautious with vitamins like Vitamin A and E which can be very harmful in large doses.

How would you know that you are buying the safe fish oil supplement?  Only buy from companies that use fresh and high qualify fish and inform the public where they get their fish.  You can check their websites or labels to be informed properly.

Fish oil supplements can be either liquid or tablet.  Liquid fish oil costs more than oil capsules. But when compared with capsules based on the cost-per-gram it is actually less expensive. Capsules are tamper-proof and keep the oil from getting bad.  Most people find fish oil to be expensive or over priced.  Some experts would say that there are two ways to compare prices.  You can compare the total amount of DHA in the supplement and the cost for each gram of DHA.

You would feel that you have low quality fish oil if you suffer from any ache or pain.  So, we would have to be cautious when buying low-cost fish oil.  They may not be the same as the high-quality fish oil.  You would have to be cautious when buying cheap fish oil.

So, when buying fish oil, or any kind of product, read the label or the product information first.  Getting informed will relieve you of any kind of health risk in the future.  Reading the label or getting to know the product would not be more than a couple of minutes, anyway.  So, spare the time.

Customer Knowledge: Buying Fish Oil Supplements (part 1 of 2)

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Fish oil has many benefits to our overall health, whether it is for the heart or brain.  Research showed that fish oil can reduce the risk of heart attacks, cancers, mental and psychological disorders and other sicknesses.  The market is full of fish oil products, but how do we make sure that what we get are actually the ones that can benefit our health.

Not all fish contains Omega-3 oil or the essential fatty acids.  Fishes that have the highest number of fatty acids are salmon, herring, mackerel, sardines, and anchovies.

There are things that you would have to consider when buying fish oil.  Actually, health professionals would say that eating too much fish that contains fish oil and Omega-3 can cause mercury contamination.  This can happen if you do not exactly know where the fish are caught.  If the fish is caught in polluted waters, we can ingest mercury and other heavy metals.

To avoid toxins entering out body, we have to make sure that the fish oil that we are taking is molecularly distilled and pharmaceutical grade supplements.  These kinds of fish oil are removed of all toxins.  You would have to check at the label to make sure that they come from clean waters and properly refined.

When checking the label of a particular fish oil supplement, you check their websites and look for the “Certificate of Analysis.” This COA is an analysis performed by an independent laboratory to identify the freshness of the product.  Aside from checking the source of the fish and the freshness of the fish oil, you would also need to know what kind of fish the oil is from.

Gluten Free Cooking (part 1 of 2)

When it comes to cooking, there are many dietary restrictions that will be encountered along the way. One restriction that is gaining some degree of notoriety in recent years is the need for a gluten free diet. Gluten is a substance that is commonly found in flour products that a decent sized portion of the population has a negative reaction to in some form or another. For these people, gluten free isn't a choice it is absolutely necessary.

Gluten free cooking does impose many restrictions and often makes it quite difficult to enjoy something the vast majority of us take for granted-dining out. The good news from those who require gluten free cooking is that more and more restaurants are beginning to acknowledge this condition and offer some selections that are gluten free. It takes time, just as it did with low carb craze for the demand for these products to make it worth the industries while to make adjustments in their way of preparing foods.

While on the one hand it is frustrating to not have the option of dining out, there is some challenge to finding new and tasty foods and combinations for cooking each and every night without falling into a rut of the same old foods that you know you can eat without worry. Consider cooking gluten free a challenge rather than a chore and you may find that the process is much more enjoyable. You might even find that you appreciate the meals you've worked hard to prepare even better because of the great sense of accomplishment.
